X-Files Replacement

Rented season 1 of Heroes the other day - watched the first 2 eps today and it has definitely got my attention for at least these 2 reasons:
1) i drew the japanese guy in my computer anime the other wk for no reason
2) i've always wanted to control time if i had a super power or one wish

see the connection??! now if they start showing the time 11:11 on the show, i'll be freaked out!!

Interesting. I just watched the last half of Season 1 on DVD/DVR last weekend. Other than being a blatant rip-off of X-Men, it's a decent show. I wouldn't put it anywhere near X-Files in terms of creativity or humor though (nerd alert!). Admittedly, I only started watching because Ali Larter is in it. After seeing her wear a whipped cream bikini in Varsity Blues, I MUST watch everything she's in ;)

it reminded me of lost more than x-men actually based how the characters are weaved. i'm only on episode 2 but it sounds like all the ppl w/abilities are gonna start fighting with each other since u mentioned x-men? great..

I've always thought of X-Men as mirror of the American Civil Rights Movement, where Professor X would be Martin Luther King and Magneto would be Malcolm X. As in the ACRM, the primary conflict was not between the two "mutant" factions but rather between mutants and humans. This is true for Heroes as well. My main gripe is that they obviously tried to get EVERY ethnic race some representation. Why does the Asian rep have to be the dorky one?!

the human-mutant concept only comes in whenever xavier speaks but is alwasy on the backburner since ppl rather watch the cool mutants fight each other - so i'm taking magneto's side!

After nascar - i'm all for diversity but i do agree, why couldn't they get a cool asian chic to be on the show that's both intelligent and hot?
