One thing that would've been priceless for me when I was a freshman in college would be to go to the admissions office or online to check out real-time video feeds of ppl working in their fields and a dollar amount next to each one in terms of salary. Think that would really give ppl a real perspective on "day in the life of" various industries and start balancing out what type of sacrifices or ideals to set out for yourself. Of course, you can check out what the entry levels do up to the seasoned professionals.. a little bit of visual aid on reality is always useful. In the IT field, it would be extremely helpful if it's broken out into the commercial, private, and government sectors since they vary drastically in terms of work activity and speed of mold growth. It'll be the postmodern version of Take Your Children to Work Day, minus the brainwash and cookies.
If this website existed, you'd most likely be watching me watching someone else working while working - we could start off a recursive trend, coolness..!
