I Like Mine All-Purpose
Rule #1 to making new friends: don't be picky. It's very hard to do this in your late 20s or 30s when social practicality reaches an all-time high and it becomes more challenging to hang out with people that are boring or offer no romantic, emotional, social, or intellectual gain. The super hot or important and happening crowd are normally conditioned to be great at nonsensical conversations using the latest slang to get by without any substance which I can only do at a maximum of once or twice every week. Those lacking in looks are generally super nice & socially tolerant but too sensitive to be honest or joke around with cause their feelings will be hurt if you forget to babysit emotionally. Regardless of the type of friends you keep, most friendships become so functional that it's not the you that matters but the purpose of you. This is where you call up the party folks to go bar-hopping or clubbing to get shit-faced or the domesticated friends for relationship advice and consolation during an emotional crisis, or the geeky classmate from decades past to have a hearty debate on a topic that matters. When you don't want to go somewhere alone, personality traits are not half as important as the fact that someone's single and willing. Very rarely do you find hot, exciting, cool, intelligent, and genuinely nice people who can be an all purpose be-all end-all solution to social woes and needs. Like shoes - you have the nice sexy pair that you wear to impress that hurts like a motherf-er and then the ugly brown loafers that are 10+ years old cause they're practical and comfortable.. We all need that perfect pair that can be worn proudly and comfortably for all occasions and look damn sexy in and last forever but will probably never find and even if we do, won't come in our size. So... rule #1 to making friends and buying shoes: don't be too picky. Although, both represent strong statements on how we compromise in our own way.

It's kind of depressing when you lay it out like that, but I must admit, it is very true. Different friends serve different purpose. It's ok Jenny, I know where I stand..lol
Well thank God you have me...
